How to Organize and Host a Food Drive in Four Easy Steps

Plan and Promote with this Step-by-Step Guide

Organizing and running a food drive can be a lot of fun! We have simple steps to help guide you, and creative ways to gather food and other contributions in your organization or neighborhood.

STEP ONE: Register your drive by filling out the form below or download the form. Download Food Drive Form

STEP TWO: Read our Food & Fund Drive Planning and Marketing Guide.
The guide includes procedures for delivering collected food and collecting monetary donations, helpful planning tools, and marketing resources.

STEP THREE: Consider collecting funds as part of your food drive, because $1 = 3 meals!
If you walk into a grocery store with $1, you won’t be able to buy too much. But when you donate $1 to Matthew’s Crossing Food Bank, we’re able to turn it into three meals! The Food & Fund Drive Planning Guide includes best practices for collecting monetary donations. We will happily track donations and report the grand total upon completion of the drive.

STEP FOUR: Promote your drive!
We’ve got plenty of marketing resources to make your food drive a success.  Click HERE for Food Drive Tool Kit that includes: brochures, flyers and posters that will help you host a successful food drive.

Food donations can be dropped off during the week, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at the food bank office. To arrange for a special pick up of a large donation just contact us and we can pick it up in our truck!
