How to Help

Volunteer with Us!

Volunteers bring their hearts and their hands to their work at Matthew's Crossing Food Bank. Their efforts are vital to our mission of feeding the hungry in our state. Visit our volunteer page for more information on volunteer opportunities. If you are interested in learning more or scheduling volunteer opportunities, please reach out to our food bank manager, Jennifer Ponzo at 480-857-2296.

At the Matthew's Crossing Food Bank, we want to provide an opportunity for everyone to be able to make a difference. If you don’t have time to donate to helping us with our projects or aren’t close enough to help us on site, see below some other ideas of ways to take action and help fight hunger:

Donate Food

Food donations are welcome during the food bank's open hours.  If you have a large donation and will need help, please call before you come so we can have the staff needed on hand.  Please check all expiration dates and food packages must not be open.

Organize a Food Drive

Visit our food drive page for details on hosting a food drive. By hosting a food drive you can help the Matthew's Crossing Food Bank continue to meet the needs of many people in our community.

Raising awareness is a big part of fighting hunger, so help us get the word out there by lending your voice! Visit our statistics page to learn about poverty and hunger in Arizona so you can tell people about the issues facing our fellow Arizona residents.

Donate when you shop

We all shop and there are some great ways to fight hunger at the same time. Click here to find out all the ways you can make a difference.

Donate funds

Matthew's Crossing can purchase food for a much lower price than you can at the grocery stores through our partner agency United Food Bank.  Please consider a financial gift and then use the donation as a tax deduction. See more here.

Employee Matching Gifts

Stretch your gift even further by asking your employer about their matching giving policies.  Please provide Matthew's Crossing with your employer’s matching gift form so that you can maximize your gift.

Name Matthew’s Crossing in Your Will or Trust

Many people choose to support Matthew’s Crossing Food Bank in their Last Will and Testament or Trust. This is the ultimate gift, and Matthew’s Crossing encourages you to consult your attorney or estate planning professional to ensure that your wish to leave a bequest to Matthew’s Crossing is appropriately documented.
