Volunteer FAQ

What are the volunteer requirements?

Must be able to lift 25 lbs regularly throughout the shift and stand for 3 hours. The age requirement is 18. Children 12 and over can volunteer with an adult.

What is the dress code?

Closed toed shoes are a requirement. We would also recommend wearing something comfortable. 

Can I use this as community Service hours?

We welcome students needing to obtain community service hours. 

What are the schedules of our volunteers?

The shifts available are Mon, Tues, Thurs and Fri, 730-11 AM to help out at the food bank and Wed 230-6 PM. To accommodate scheduling, a commitment of one day a week is preferred. We are always in need of Spanish speaking volunteers!

How do we volunteer as a group?

We welcome groups to volunteer, we are not usually able to accommodate groups over 20 at a time, but please reach out. When filling out the application please indicate how many in your group. 

What are the shifts and jobs most needed?

Shifts will vary, the two areas you will volunteering in will be the Emergency Food Box Program or Meals to Grow Backpack Program. If you have a preference please let us know.

Drivers for the food pickups at stores and to help with our backpack program.  Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Spanish speaking volunteers needed for all shifts.
